Relinquished
Like milkweed seeds
they fly—
to map the
blue-washed sky,
these three adults who see
things differently
than me.
They're out
in the wide world,
their thoughts and dreams
unfurled—
like banners that proclaim
the world won't be
the same.
And in each face I see
just ripples there
of me.
But I know I've done right
to loose in windy flight
three seeds to bloom upon
this earth when I
am gone.
* with love to my son and two daughters who have left the nest!
