"Rejection is the sand in the oyster, the irritation that ultimately produces the pearl.” – Burke Wilkinson
Hearts connect, through light that binds,
Kisses gentle, embracing pure love,
Breathless passion, colored in joy – beyond
What the heart can imagine,
What the soul can reveal – the tenderness
Beyond any rhyme or reason,
Beyond the senses, the impression so authentic.
Hearts connect, through laughter and light,
Sensations, trembling, an echo in the thoughts,
Abiding expressions of love that confides
The reason for this feeling – only God knows,
The reason for this wonder – just as light flows,
The reason for this music – the song sincere, glows,
The reason for this affection – warmth that grows.
Hearts connect, through the poetry that writes
About seasons and silence, sincerity – still solace,
Glistening in the stardust heavens,
Giving spirits their ability to fathom…
What it means to love without conditions,
What it means to love without reasons,
What it means to love so that God blesses,
Hearts who believe in the wonder of this connection.
Hearts connect, through the autumn leaves,
Across the skies, beyond the trees,
Beneath the colors, seas of green – tempting me,
To just agree… it is only the beautiful in the peace
That gives this heart its second chance,
The whisper of God’s amazing grace,
Who assures the wind it will always have a place,
Beneath the stars, beyond the sea, where God gives…
You and me… this connection between two hearts who believe.
Hearts connect, through each melody
Gifted words, sweetest peace,
Gentleness that all the world needs,
Abiding hope that never forgets the ease
Of love that sees beyond the past’s heavy grasp,
Through the sunlight glow, to the heaven’s soul,
Where God reminds me, this connection
It is the love I seek, there beside me,
Growing inside me, always alive… just breathe.
Hearts connect, on the edges of each snowflake,
Beneath the sunlight pouring out its light,
By the waters of a river caressing the night,
Inside the notes of a reflection, a hope,
Desperate words, forcing charisma to believe,
Risking the still to fulfill, what it means
To just let them, when they try to leave,
Let them, even if it means….
Hearts connect, hearts – never alone,
Hearts who have known what it is to let go,
Hearts who have shown the world they they’re done,
Yet, when the time comes…
They move on, move on to the connection,
So hearts connect, the grace, the blessing,
Stirring light and reflecting the message
Of a love that lives, despite the lonely days,
Love that fulfills, because a heart still prays,
Love that is… because the lover stays,
Love that stills even the complicated grays.
Black or white, wrong or right,
Love this alive… in hearts who connect
Always reflect… what is best,
And what is best, is love that connects,
Love that never forgets,
Love that a heart never regrets,
Because this is a love that respects
The heart who is forever connected
By the love that someone else rejected.
