Reflection
Reflection
As I look into her eyes
I see a life once cherished
A by-gone age of care-free innocence
What have I gained as a reward for my years of turmoil and tribulation?
Wisdom
A collection of memories and experiences
Passing anecdotes to the interested few
Wealth
Amassing wealth has never been my forte
As part of the consumable masses
I greedily assimilate western products
Now moth-balled amongst a pile of forgotten eccentricities
Fame
You will not find my name amongst those glossy pages
I am relegated to a statistician’s fact
A series of numbers amongst a long line of numbers
I am resigned to the fact, that even though I am no-one of note
My scribbling will be out there
The only thing that remains of an existence that once walked amongst his peers.
