Raspberry Roses

I shelter aside raspberry roses when the thunderous skies speak to me They come to me and they hold me close hiding their thorns along the way These roses are few yet loving they form a happy family I watch them play and dance and so many times do the giggles But the main dragon rose is my favorite she touches my soul and comforts me But I am not a raspberry rose so I will never be truly accepted However they treat me as if I am one of their own This is true love

This is beautiful Robert. True love and acceptance is the hardest and most wonderful thing to find. And you express it wonderfully in this piece. "Dragon Rose," I love that. Brilliant write.

Dear Robert James L, What a beautiful poem! I love your title raspberry roses! So catchy and unique! Made me think deep to decipher the meaning of this poem! Its a rare sight in this world to be accepted when one is different, and when we are accepted it is important to appreciate and your poem shows that you have a very grateful heart for all! I especially love the opening and made me sad as i read “But I am not a raspberry rose so I will never be truly accepted” so evocative and touching! Absolute pleasure reading you! Sending you light today and always

Wow, this is such a beautiful and emotionally interactive poem! I love the way you've delivered such depth behind the techniques of symbolism and metaphor here ~ those raspberry roses which hide their thorns, ahh, how creative! They feel like a soul-touching shelter for the heart.. A truly exquisite poem, crafted in an ethereal way.. Pleasure reading this ~
