Rainless

We’ve had so many days without A single drop of rain That trees and plants are suffering From lack-of-water strain. For people, it’s been wonderful - With so much time outside, The joy of crisp fall weather Paired with sun can’t be denied. Yet animals are hurting and Most crops are fading, too, Though there isn’t really anything To help that we can do. Yet, there are reports that Thursday We’ll experience some rain. I’ll miss these lovely sunny days, But I will not complain.

Meither, neither!! We had the same 'rainless' thing in Chicago - 'til last week, when it rained most every day - and today we got a 4" snow dump. Oy! Complain, complain, complain :) Gershon

I note (at least in my part of New England) the usual autumn colors were mysteriously absent this year? Not only that, but the leaves, especially on maples and poplars were all dried out, leaving those deciduous trees resembling skeletons??? Climate change? / Maurice

I'd love a bit of rain too, we've got snow and ice here, roll on spring. Tom

Seems only days ago we were saying how uncannily mild it is for November. Today, I was outside and as cold as I can remember. Enjoy it while it lasts, Ilene. Wildlife is surprisingly resilient. Enjoyed your (un)seasonal write. Terry
