RAINDROPS
Raindrops
Streak across an unseen horizon
Lonely creatures
Mostly unrecognized
Tickling the faces of eager children
Splashing in puddles
Clinging to a distant identity
Tapping on closed windows
Shaken from the coat of wet dogs
Destined to fade
Into the flow of a bubbling brook
Be overwhelmed
By the current of a rising river
Splatter, bug like, against a windshield
Nestle among the rose petals
Awaken a parched countryside
To a peek-a-boo rainbow sunrise
…poems are like raindrops
