Quarantine
Day ten of a "stay home" mandate -
How long that seems to be!
"Don't come out here with us", they said.
"We'll tell you when you're free."
It used to be they locked you down
When you had somethin' bad.
Now they're keepin' me from spreadin'
Somethin' that I ain't had.
Well, I am old and don't expect
To know these young folks' mind.
But I've seen viruses before -
This here's a different kind.
I think germs from around the world
Ride in on cell phone beams -
And just like that a pandemic
Rips the world at its seams.
I told them just the other day,
"Cell phones will kill you dead !"
"Wash your hands and stay in your house."
Was all they ever said.
