Psalm For the Broken

Desperate, broken, needing love Descending low through the air Your Holy Spirit like a dove Came to me in my despair Confused, tattered, bitterly torn Needing a full release By your grace I am reborn Now I know your loving peace Day by day I’m seeking you In your Word you are found It tells me that I’m brand new Your mercy and love richly abound I am filled with joy and I sing Blessing you with all my heart Worshiping and praising my God & King Honor and glory to You I impart Thank you, Lord, for calling me Out of the muck and mire You opened my heart and eyes to see It is truly You that I desire John Stasukevich 3/20/2023

Thank you, Gordon. I'm honored by such kind remarks. Especially from you, having written so many more poems than me, a novice. BTW visiting your country to play golf is on my bucket list. Blessings~John

Thank you, Michelle. I really appreciate your blessing to me. So, I give you this blessing: May the Lord make you increase and abound in love, so that he may establish your heart blameless in holiness before our God and Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his saints. John

Thank you, Johannes. The genesis of this was my broken heart as one might surmise. In our brokeness the Lord reveals Himself in ways we don't always see. It reminds me how desperate I am for Him. Blessings~John

I'm really pleased with this effort. Kudos. I wish that Rush Limbaugh was still around for thie New millennia though. Have you ever read any Franklin Graham or Tony Campolo. How about Hal Lindsey or Phillipians

Thanks, LeRoy. I was an avid listener of Rush Limbaugh. I believe that man was the voice of truth. I remember the first time I heard him on the radio he was saying just what I was thinking but in a very eloquent way and in a way I just couldn't put it. I really miss him. I haven't read any of those authors but I've read RC Sproul, Jerry Brdges, JI Packer (Hot Tub Religion is a fav) John Eldridge, Bob Goff and others. I like Christian authors. John Eldridge wrote a great book called Wild at Heart. I highly recommend that any man read that book. And of course, I've read Philippians many times. All of Paul's writings are amazing, especially considering he was inspired by God. I appreciate your comment. As for this poem, God gave me these words after going thru the most difficult time of my life. Blessings~John

Thank you, Susan. As I expressed to John Watt, but will express differently to you, in a sense the Lord comforted me by His rod & staff as I was walking through the valley of the shadow... I won't say of death, but it was pretty rough. Despair is a better word. I believe the Holy Spirit inspired me to write this. Not like He did for the writers of scripture, of course. He definitely moved me. Glad you liked it. Blessings ~ John

John, there is a real humility in this expression of faith: the acknowledgement of God coming to you in your time of need, that He opened your eyes and heart, and that His mercy and love richly abound. Nice use of rhymes and biblical imagery - I especially liked the Holy Spirit descending like a dove as well as the overall tone of worship. Well done - a Fav for me ~ John

Thank you, John. As you can surmise, this came at a time when I was going through an extremely difficult season in my life. In fact the most difficult ever! God brought me through it by His loving kindness and I was ripe to write this. Your comments encourage me to write more. Thank you for the fav. Blessings
