Hey there! I'm back with a piece from my Literature class. Ruben Darío, a poet we've been exploring, left his mark on my thoughts, pushing me to pen down this story. Though I almost got in trouble for writing this poem instead of taking notes. Anyways, I'm excited to share it with you all. Enjoy. Thanks for reading. . . .
In towers tall, where silence weaves, A princess dreams, but never leaves. Her beauty, like a fading ember, Hides a heart that longs to remember. Golden chains, a heavy grace, Yet in her soul, a wild chase. Behind the crown, a whispered plea, To break the mold, to just be free. Her tears, like dew on petals cling, In royal robes, a caged wing. A dance of shadows in her eyes, As she yearns for mundane skies. A fairy tale, both sad and real, She longs for warmth, not polished steel. To shed the role, no longer play, The princess dreams of a different day. Once in realms of royal grace, A princess sighed, dreamt of a different space. Chains of crown, she longed to dismiss, A tale of a princess who didn't want to be a princess.

Behind the crown, a whispered plea, To break the mold, to just be free. This princess longs to be herself, to dismiss the chains of a crown. My granddaughter was in the high school musical, “Mean Girls.” She played the lead and in the end she broke her crown into several pieces to share with everyone. You remind me is this!

When you have a poetic inspiration, you must write it down before it escapes you. Surely your teacher would understand this. Glad to see you back with this wonderful poem. John

Hi John! I really enjoyed writing it. I tried to explain it to my teacher and I only got myself in trouble. Though I don't regret nothing :-) I had to write it down before my mind forgot it.

The poem adeptly explores the paradoxical life of a princess, describing her existence as adorned with "golden chains" that carry a "heavy grace." The use of the word "grace" adds a layer of elegance to the burden she bears, suggesting that her royal responsibilities come with a weighty sense of duty... Well done..

i really enjoyed this, especially the third stanza. the imagery with the royal robes being a caged wing, and tears like dew hanging on petals. spectacular work.
