William, congratulations on your win! I, too, have wonderful memories of my musical mother playing the piano and singing. She was the first woman I know to have a masters degree in...music - of course. Your mother sounds amazing and quite a gift in your life. Blessings to you my friend. Aloha!

Musician, composer, an evangelical minister, exorcist, and mom, grandma, and grt-grandma. She is greatly missed! Aloha!

Hmmm...very interesting, William. Being a musician, I can't resist. Your mom is playing an organ, looks like a smaller Wurlitzer or Baldwin. Perfect for home enjoyment. Churches usually have much larger organs; Baldwin's Acrosonic was a popular church piano for years. The Japanese and Korean brands seem to be preferred these days. I personally choose the Clavinova for home or church. For performance, give me the good ol' Steinway grand! Wonderful!!!

It was newly bought by my dad for two years before the house went down. Once you break-out photos, there's no putting it down. Mom is actually playing in the church hall while people are eating, which was adjacent to the church.

Ah, that wasn't necessary. I'm so happy you found this photo and used it to illustrate your poem. Your mom must have been a very special woman. I can tell just looking!

Mom was a musician of sorts, at the hotel was her cello, piano/organ not Hawaiian type instruments, drums or strings are, like ukeleles. Couldn't find mom's baby grand she taught at the house lost in the fire (will change caption) too many photos to thumb through. The Steinway went--so were we to Maine, lost our bro to NAM 30 days earlier--too much for mom.
