Pops Out Front
In my room playing with my doll,
All the sudden there's sounds of fear,
Pops out front and he's been drinking beer,
“OOOH NO, you're gonna hit something!”
What on earth is wrong now,
Do I think it should stop? No.
Do I think this is normal? Yes!
Each day is like walking on hot coals,
Lightly step, try not to scream, can't be a pest
This time I worry though,
Sounds like someone is getting hurt,
I run outside and he's just standing there,
Cant keep his balance, too wasted to be alert,
I look where he's looking,
And..what? Seriously? This is why you're yelling?
A tow truck almost ran into the sidewalk?
The lengths you'll go for attention I find compelling,
I try to see your eyes when I look up,
You're still occupied with the truck
My heart was beating rapidly,
First with fear now with anger,
Sometimes when I look in his eyes,
All I see is a distant stranger
