Please Don'T Forget Me
Please Don’t Forget Me.
.
When I slumber and breathe no more
And the sun no longer shines upon me
My bones laid to rest
Under idle peaceful ground
Within a chest
By a shady leafy sprawling tree
Please don’t forget me
.
Remember the warmth of heart
That once beat with so much love to share
Although not perfect I did my best
And I really cared although few cared
For me
.
My life was always a struggle
In a war I could never win
Thrown into the deep end from birth
But never learned to swim
.
But I was blessed to touched so many others hearts
By word never uttered or spoken
By baring my soul and deepest thoughts
With honesty and devotion
That resonated with countless thousands across the world
Over the presiding years
Through wisdom joy laughter
And many tears
.
The tombstone above that bears my name
Will soon weather away and be overgrown
My life and being out of mind and memory
But through my legacy of words
Do not forget but remember me
.
For I was no different from you
With aspirations a need to love and be loved
And heart held dreams to pursue
But whatever you do
My words are heartfelt
And if you desire to read
What I thought and believed
You may not always agree
With me
But please don’t forget me
.
Or it would be like I never existed.
