Planting Mums By the Firth

The luxurious feel of freshly troweled earth Sifting through my hands as I ready the plot, I shall plant roots for chrysanthemums’ birth Ere fierce sun rising spoils their golden spot. Sifting through my hands as I ready the plot Peaceful garden resting beside the narrow firth Ere fierce sun rising spoils their golden spot, More than gold the precious blossoms worth. Peaceful garden resting beside the narrow firth, Where warm summer gentle breezes kiss the sea More than gold the precious blossoms worth, I knead the fertile soil carefully on bended knee. Where warm summer gentle breezes kiss the sea, I shall plant roots for chrysanthemums’ birth I knead the fertile soil carefully on bended knee The luxurious feel of freshly troweled earth. Beautiful poem. The mood and feel of nature resonates clearly. The scene is rich and vivid with life and the shared experience of being part of the fertile earth.

Wow a beautiful awesome gardening poem and i too enjoy the feel of the earth through your poem as well. At first the title puzzled me, i said planting mums for mothers day, then i realised you mean short for that long named flower. Kudos for this poem. -------------->>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<< Plz do read and comment my newest poem too.

Thanks, S.zaynab, for your lovely comments on my poem. I had not realized that "mums" could be taken as "mothers" in some cultures. I shall read your poem!
