Parasitic
We take, we give
We destroy, we let live
We kill, we protect
The partnership must survive
Humanity is not a sure provide
Though we take we try to give
But more than humans need to live.
More than humans need to eat.
More than humans need to meet.
The partnership weighs to one side.
For we believe in the conceited power of mankind.
It’s endeavours grow and nourish our minds.
But we can not ignore how nature provides.
We can’t hide. We can’t survive.
Nature is what we are. She has let us come this far. But if we turn our backs on what is natural life.
Nature will destroy us without guns, without knives.
It now is warning that we’ve gone too far. Perhaps it can communicate with all those stars?
The world we walk on, the seas in which we swim. The joys of humanity don’t mean a thing. It creates, it destroys, we’re powerless if it wants to strike.
You may argue that humanity is not a parasite but what are we - a few hundred thousand years of life?
The world has spun over billions of times. How many distant humanities has it let survive?
