Paper Airplane In a Gumdrop Sky
I was paused at a blood red light,
across from a clapboard church
with a sign
"English services available".
Off to the side I saw a chubby kid
clumsily attempting a cartwheel...
after brushing himself off
he launched a paper airplane
that fluttered for a moment
crash landing in the rough grass.
As the purist smile suddenly arrived
on his big, beautiful cinnamon face,
I thought about my grow children
and the brevity of this life.
The moment was electrified
filled with carnival and confetti
that simple things often bring..
This gum drop sky was made
for only him~
The car behind me trumpeted
the light turned springish green..
I headed down a mundane road
that'd turned to golden beams-
