outside my window
trees are bathed in sunlight
red, yellow, and orange leaves glow brilliant and beautiful
almost ready to start falling, drifting and swirling
in their autumn dance
a thousand birds are singing a morning symphony
as distant traffic is a dull drumbeat
there is peace and tranquility in my world this morning
but, sadly my flowers are fading
and starting to nod their heads, dying
time for me to put my garden to sleep
a gentle breeze pulls at my hair
and kitty is meowing for her breakfast
the kettle is whistling . . .
