Our Mother
A nurse, a teacher,
a mother and a friend
She was all of this
and more right to the end.
She was second a mother,
but first a wife.
But to us her children,
she dedicated her life.
She had eight children,
three daughters and five sons
and in our house,
it was filled with laughter and fun.
We were never spoiled,
nor had lack of discipline,
however, she would wipe away our tears
and kiss our small little chin.
First we lost our brother,
then our dad.
Due to this, mom's life
became a little sad.
She tried to be happy
and so very proud.
But inwardly her heart
was crying out loud.
It wasn't too long
before her health was failing.
But her love for us,
her children, was still prevailing.
As the days, the weeks
and the years went on.
In a small amount of time,
mom herself was gone.
Out of our sight
and out of our touch she had depart.
But never ever,
far from each of our hearts.
Her spirit still lingers
and so does her love.
But now she's an angel
watching over us from above.
We will always have each other,
as sisters and brothers,
along with the love, that was left behind,
By OUR MOTHER.
