One Dark Night
ONE DARK NIGHT
Fast asleep one dark moonless winter night
The girl woke up to a horrific sight
Of an armed intruder's presence inside
Speechless, she sat stunned, her face ashen white
While her mother slept soundly on her right
Little aware of her poor daughters plight
Determined not to give in without fight
The courageous child held her toy gun tight...
Stepping out of the shadows into light
Father hugged the sleepy girl with delight!
