Once Upon An Unravelled Thread

Once upon an unravelled thread I travelled to the very end To live the story that you said And make true what was once pretend Looking for the happy ending Once upon an unravelled thread Fixing flaws that needed mending Beyond closed eyes safely in bed A hedge rowed path just lightly tread To knots that held my breath suspend Once upon an unravelled thread I lived a life I could defend Inch by inch as I descended Through years that lay in wait ahead Apprehensions apprehended Once upon an unravelled thread
