Nursery Times

Georgie Porgy pudding and pie Was trying to think of an alibi. He should have been in a corner Sharing pie with little Jack Horner; He’d been rudely awakened that morn By little Boy Blue blowing his horn, To find he was cuddling little Bo Peep, Still in his arms and fast asleep. She’d awakened with a shock And run of to tend her flock. He wandered off to the Knave of Hearts Hoping he’d not finished all those tarts. He gave a wave to Jack and Jill As they both ran up the hill. He heard a yell and turning around Saw young Jack come tumbling down. He rushed off to find a miss Or three or four for him to kiss, Then spend hours running away When the boys came out to play. Life was good most of the time Here in the land of Nursery Rhyme Except you had to play your part Every time some one made a start And told your tale to the very end Enough to drive one round the bend. Georgie Porgy pudding and pie Rushed off to work with a sigh Thing could have been worse after all. Think of poor Humpty sat on his wall.
