Winter's arrival signals my departure hidden by soft snow in the ground When Spring returns, I emerge from hard mud on sidewalks and in plush flowerbeds I'd love to warm myself, to lay in the sun but I'm on the look-out twenty-four/seven for a worm's sworn enemy, the dreaded bird Discretion, please: Shh! ~ Don't breathe a word

Personification is probably my favorite type of poem to read; I truly enjoyed this one.
