Not My Fault
A good poet always knows
Writer's block don't exist
There's too many things to blame it on
That I simply can't resist
I blame it on the the cat
And the way he looks at me
Or maybe it's that picture
It's not where it used to be
I blame it on the birds
They're singing way too loud
Or maybe it's my mother-in-law
That woman's way too proud
I blame it on my pants
They just don't fit quite right
Or sometimes, it's my shoes
They're always way too tight
I blame it on my wife
Her cooking is way too good
Or maybe it's my dog
For not listening like he should
Sometimes, it's the tv
I gotta watch the game
And if my team loses
I've got something else to blame
I even blame it on my neighbor
He lives way too close
I blame it on my breakfast
And all that juice and toast
I blame it on everything
For what's a man to do
And yes, there are even times
When I blame it all on you
