Nocturnal hours are shorter than before
since the position of our sun, on queue,
now lets each day last longer to grant more
good time for other things some like to do.
Therefore, the pace of life moves into gear
to step within that time of more events,
as extra leisure hours seem to appear
with pressure to do more as time presents.
And so, since days stay longer before night-
some truly miss those long nocturnal spans
to just relax post dinner neath lamp light
enjoying those less stressful, quiet plans.
A darkened sky at five, and shades pulled down;
a fire burning, lamps that softly gleam.
The couch and chair with throws to wrap around;
nocturnal blessings set the evening theme.
At rest and cozy with a book; perhaps
then watch a movie or uplifting show.
Nocturnal darkness sets a stage that traps
that gift of quietness some gladly know.
Nocturnal hours served well before the Spring
with past months' hibernation time to rest-
a perfect phase of peace on which to cling.
Now longer days dismiss that calmer quest.
