Nagging
Nagging.
What is it that you're Granny said?
'Now clean you're teeth before your bed.'
Then Mum would shout, 'walk don't run.'
Nagging's all they seem to do.
Now tell me where's the fun?
'Wash behind you're ears boy.'
When Granny's nagging there's no joy.
Why can't they leave me to get on
I'll do it all when I've had some fun.
I'll say my prayers and clean my teeth
before I go to bed.
I'll even wash behind my ears
just like my mother said.
But would it hurt them just this once
to leave me to play?
Then I'd be good and happy to do the
things they say.
