My music adventure

May last year, when I decided to stay away, To help keep my feelings at bay. I found this place with a piano. Started practicing, thinking of impressing someone. Now, the friendship has long gone. I continue to play the piano at various places. That was how my music adventure started. Today, while playing at MC, Something amazing happened. A young man stood by the piano and waited, I stopped to check what he wanted. He politely asked if he could sit next to me. I pointed some seats not far away. He insisted and stated: “I am a beginner, I love music and would like to watch you play” He sat down on the piano seat next to my chair. After playing a few pieces, I asked “Would you like to play?” He put his hands together forming a “thank you” gesture. And said “I am just a beginner, You go ahead and enjoy playing” At first, I felt quite uncomfortable. To avoid losing my precious time, I decided to let him be. Then, he interrupted me and said: “Are you nervous? You seemed to play the rhythm too fast” Then our conversations went on from one topic to another. He taught me how to sit with a right posture, How to use my fingers pressing on the keyboards. He even taught me how to use the three pedals near the floor. After 30 minutes, from his words, I found this man seemed to be humble, with some interesting but confusing factors. He claimed he is retired and bored with life. He travelled and lived in 16 countries since he was 28. I was surprised how he survived. He said he worked hard and earned substantial money, As a successful finance banking investor. He currently looks after many people's businesses. Now, interested in learning how to play chess. From his bag, he took out a chess board and showed it to me. He also mentioned he wanted to learn Majong and play to win, He said he would not do thing that does not generate money. I asked what ethnic background he has. "Mix. African and Japanese". He then shared with me his music learning. He said every time, he made a mistake, His maestro would hit and break his knuckle. I felt so sorry to hear his music lesson troubles. He quickly said something to make me at ease. “Don’t worry. I was a 9 year old then, I am still young and they heal quickly” I decided to let him play, He did well but very strangely. He did not look at the keyboard at all but at my face. I started wonder what game he was trying to play. We went separate way not before he said "I will see you again and hopefully you play better then". Bye
