Innocence follows you through life,
yet you're as sharp as any knife.
And you have a calming effect,
polishing dreams dimmed by neglect.
Your compassion cushions my falls
as you breach all my inner walls.
And restoring lost hopes and pride,
you put confidence in my stride.
Your smile melts my sadness within,
allowing my smile to begin.
And your faith in me gets me through;
if I lost you, what would I do?
You're forgiving, patient, and kind,
virtues that aren't easy to find.
And this extraordinary blend;
defines my lover and best friend.
