My Gardenias
My gardenia bushes are blooming
With flowers creamy white
Their lovely fragrance fills the air
On a humid night
They greet everyone
Who comes to my front door
If I'd know they would be so beautiful
I would have planted more
Too soon the blossoms fade
Unfortunely, they don't last long
But I can recall their fragrance
Like the words of a favorite song
I really wish they bloomed forever
For they smell so divine
Guess I'll just enjoy them for now
These lovely gardenias of mine
