My Birthday
My birthday will always will always hold special thoughts for me today
My dad was also born than eighty-six years later he passed away on the same day
As you can tell my memories will always be bitter and sweet
My wife will surprise me with dinner out , which is always such a treat
Millions of people will share this day with their birthdays throuhout the planet
I hope all their wishes when they blow out their candles will be granted
What do I want for my birthday is that love will prevail through out our land
Or maybe the sun will come out so I can stroll on the beach with its nice warm sand
We can only celebrate this special day we entered this world but once a year
There is no doubt I look a little older as I look into the mirror
I am truly blessed that another birthday has come my way
How many I have left no one can say for sure , all I know I am going to really enjoy this special day
