My Apologies
My apologies, darlins'
For all the late nights I had to spend working
When all I really wanted to do was read your bedtime stories
And ease your stress and your worries with goodnight hugs and kisses
I'm so sorry, I missed it
My apologies, darlins'
For always having work, so long and so hard
It was all so that I could afford to see those smiles in the mornings
That's honestly what got me through most all of my tomorrows
I'm so sorry, it's a bitter sweet sorrow
My apologies, darlins'
For not always being at home enough, I swear that I wanted to
I didn't choose it over you, I choose it because of you
So that when I do leave here, before you, your dreams still come true for you
I'm so sorry, I promise, it's all for you
