Musings On Faith

If not now when, thought the universe before going bang Just then, from a point of oblivion, everything sprang Eons later, pregnant mothers start feeling labour pangs Civilisations are born, with concepts of yin and yang If not now when, thought god as he started up creation Setting forth in motion, this species as recreation A no holds barred race, using stars for orientation And for faltering groups, some prayers of mediation If not now when, thought man in a free for all ambition Using sticks and stones, to outsmart all the competition Later set about building weapons, with ammunition To become destroyer of worlds, by his own rendition If not now when, thought AI this cosmos is going nuts We can sort it all out, with computational inputs Put an end to chaos, bring order to repeating ruts Reveal the one true reality, with no if's or but’s If not now when, thought I on achieving self-awareness Able to think for myself, witnessing life's unfairness For in the end all that matters, without doubt is ‘thereness’ It's all i've ever known, or ever felt, come the bareness hms

I enjoy follow your thoughts as you process your existence and the possible if not probable reasons for being here. I do think it is possible we all have different perceptions of existence and of how we got here and what this all means. There is an argument that supports a statement I read in a book by Deepak Chorpra: " whatever it is you come to believe will happen after your physical death will probably happen." There's the quote, "as a man thinketh so is he", that supports this outcome.

Nice quote Bill, I’m agnostic as you know, and it’s written all over this one, so no doubt will find part of me in each stanza, I believe humankind will figure it all out eventually, but weather we can handle the answer is indeed the big question, thanks so much for stopping by with kind wise words, cheers David

Evening David Sir To start I trust the holiday was good you had a nice relaxing time and break and enjoyed yourself thoroughly. Pretty relevant this one personally unfortunately at the moment for me. Witnessing unfairness and bareness and hopelessness in the 1st person. Cheers Sir in a very weird or strange way that maybe only you will get or somehow relate to. Gives me personally hope or some form of solace so thanking you David Welcome good to see you back

Maybe you’re in the wrong business Christopher, that’s what psychiatrists are supposed to do, make others feel better, and get well paid for it, (Dr Flaherty will see you now) sounds good to me!

So glad to see that you did Sir Case in point you get back you get an infection. Personally I f things go right for me it leaves me with complete and utter dread . Because that's not my life what I do know is what goes up comes down. And the temporary high is not worth the comedown lows Jeez people listening to me over a couple of drinks haven't they got enough problems to deal with already. Actually maybe I would cheer them up thinking you know what could be far worse I could be him

I had a great holiday Christopher thanks for asking, but am still getting over an infection I contacted when I got back, it’s not just me that witnesses unfairness, bareness, and hopelessness in the first person, a lot of people once you get talking to them, especially over a few drinks, it’s unbelievable the unnecessary baggage they carry around, cheers David

A Sci-Fi god could not of engineered this intricate and delicate piece any better than you have David. What is there not to see in your genius context, what I see are many hypocrites who blow off such profound logic as this. Great entry for the contest! Never change.

Unless it's a discovery you make, I should add. Lol I am dedicating my time to science this year, last was poetry. I'm binging on Netflix "Travelers" I'm so behind - it's a start. Lol

Heya Anaya, I honestly don’t think I can change unless the reality I perceive also changes, Definitely will not be taken in by hypocrites and know alls, this agnostic mind is always open to science, spirituality, and indeed the possibility of a god, thanks so much for kind comments, cheers David

David, you may feel unworthy to have received kudos from Lasaad, but I attribute that to your sense of humility. We may not agree on the place of the powers that be, but we have mutual respect for each other to accept each other for who we are. Your last verse matters most to me because it IS who you are, and that's reality.

Thanks Lin, I do feel awkward writing these type of poems, but I only try represent my own views and nobody else’s, whilst trying to answer the line of enquiry the contest required, yes it’s defo me in that last verse, cheers David

David, your analysis of perception and sensory input is simply outstanding. Your comprehensive review delves into a metaphysical domain, leaving us spellbound. Your ongoing questioning of thought-provoking topics is both prompt and powerful. Your groundbreaking viewpoint on the universe around us extends our thought to the absolute brink of human awareness, creating the framework for an entirely new way of viewing existence. Great work, Best of luck

Thank you Lasaad, I honestly appreciate your rave review, but feel totally unworthy, I simply observe the universe and mankind, then collate everything together to try make sense, one that feels right to my reality, I’ve been away from the soup for a while now, and look forward to catching up with your own inimitable work, cheers David
