"misty Moon"
In mid'st o'black o'night,
As crows did take to flight.
While foxes fury'd after coon,
Below mist shrouded moon.
In mid'st of whirlin' fog,
Atop soft fallen log.
Heard all did,
Such that kid,
As bairn to her that night.
'Twere naught but wee young lass,
Such as time would pass.
Through valley bold or mountain cold,
To within our dreams behold.
In mid'st o'black o'night,
As life did take to flight.
Her song so sung within her swoon,
'Twas only heard by swiftest bird,
Or shroud of misty moon.
