Mental Health Episode
An episode may come and go
When it will come you will never know
From the left or right or head on
The way to beat it is to stay strong
Emotions and thoughts they run wild
Sometimes you just wish you were a child
Stay strong and try to remain upbeat
Keep your self on your feet
Find someone whom you can talk
Or find a place to go for a walk
Clear your head and find that space
Only you know your safe place
Fight or flight is in the mind
If you run that would be unkind
Stand tall and fight the demon within
This is the only way you can win
Head on they say is the only way
To put these thoughts to bed one day
It wont just happen over night
This will be one long fight
But when you’re feeling on top of your game
You will win and no more pain
Keep those you love close and near
They will help rid you of the fear
Sadness, loneliness feeling of remorse
Guilt, Anger and pain of course
Some of the feelings you may get
Waking up in the night soaking wet
These dreams you’re having
Keeping you awake
Positive thoughts you need
For your own sake
Happy times that make you smile
Will help you through this last mile
When it rears its ugly head
Remember what this poem said
Stay strong, remain calm
You can win
What happened to you
Is not a sin
You are worth your weight in gold
Shout out and let the world be told
What you have encountered is truly sad
You’re an amazing lady or lad.
