Ignorance is ruling more and more often these days; sadly. Well done! From someone who would much rather be one of the mice than those hellish cats.

Most parents quickly learn their offspring do not share the same beliefs, favourite foods, etc., so every Department of Education should be smart enough to understand their job is to present the facts as the students will interpret them any way they want. Although the media focus on Jews, "dissidents" of every sort also fueled the gas chambers proving "them against us" philosophies will never unite a nation! Aloha!

I think you are so right, Ilene, and if someone wants to start a petition, I'll sign it! If I remember that's the same state that held the Scopes trials? Obviously, the book is worthy, or it wouldn't have earned the Pulitzer. And what eighth grader doesn't have his/her own list of curse words (probably some I don't know!)?

I read about that Ilene, but it was how things were during the war , they suffered at the hands of those Nazi thugs. We must never forget the victims of the holocaust, its not something that you can sugarcoat. People have a right to know. Tom
