Love, Presently
"We love the things we love for what they are". Hyla Brook, Robert Frost
When I fell in love with my bride of 49 years;
When I asked Her hand in marriage, and she said "Yes";
When we both said "I do", Never knowing what tomorrow would bring;
Or whether our skies would be grey or blue.
When I took her home and made her my own;
It was never about what I wanted her to become.
But all my love for her was about 'the presently'.
It was not about what she may have been yesterday.
It was not about who she might become tomorrow.
It was all about who and what she was on our wedding day.
