Lost In My Mind
I woke up to the sounds of gun shots
I’m not in hell, just in a prison cell I call home- Paterson
Behind these bars
The world looks so different like an atomic bomb of colors exploded while I was
gone.
Chorus
Bullets flying through the air
Cutting lives like there was a way to replace that
Like an old pair of Nikes weathering the storm after fifty years of dust and
neglect
I wish for a better place,
A nicer home,
Better living conditions for my mom
Verse 2
Walking through the streets in my mind
Never thinking about my life
I live in the past when a notebook produced my only escape
But another shot flies through the air and brings me back to reality- I’m a
murderer
Never to see light again.
Chorus
Bullets flying through the air
Cutting lives like there was a way to replace that
Like an old pair of Nikes weathering the storm after fifty years of dust and
neglect
I wish for a better place,
A nicer home,
Better living conditions for my mom
Verse 3
Adrenaline pumping as I’m ready to punch the cold bars,
But I wake up for a second time and I realize
Life continues when you die
No matter what.
And I was lost in my mind but not anymore.
I know who I am,
I know what’s right and what’s wrong,
But most importantly- I understand.
