Living Your Memories
It is the simple things of life
that I remember the most.
The unique smell of Africa
pungent with spices and scents
so exotic they flood your nostrils.
It is oh so easy to drift away
to magical places and palaces.
Filled with unicorns and faeries
and other things that live in memory
Were they ever real? or just figments.
The tangy salty smell of Oyster bay
as it drifts inland with the hot breeze.
Waves sparkle in the sun as they lap the beach,
brilliant hues of colour stretch over the reefs.
The silver golden sands peeking through.
It's thoughts of these simple things
that in this life keep me grounded.
Indeed they make me who I am
in touch with my inner spirit
and complete as I remember.
