Lemon Lullaby
I know a land where the lemon trees bloom,
Where blossom exudes its delicate perfume.
Hummingbirds and bees live in perfect harmony
For nectar flows there abundantly.
Come then, my dear child, come, let’s take our ease
Under the shade of the lemon myrtle trees.
Close weary eyes, let soothing, restful hours
Lead to the land where the lemon blossom flowers.
Hush, hear the songbirds’ dulcet melody;
Singing God's praise in the lemon blossom tree.
Breathe in the fragrance of its citrus bower,
Dream of the land where the lemon trees flower.
