Learning Humility

Upon the throne, where wisdom’s light does gleam, I sought the crown of gold, but found it vain. For pride, a fleeting shadow, lost its brilliant gleam, And in its wake, I tasted bitter pain. A king am I, yet bowed before the truth, That power wanes and wisdom humbly grows. In riches vast, I lost the heart of youth, But in the dust, the seeds of virtue grew. Behold, the humble man is richly blessed, His soul at peace, no burden weighs him down. In quiet fields, his labors find their rest, While kings, with pride, shall tumble from their crown. So, learn humility, O heart of mine, For in its grace, true majesty does shine.
