Kowloon Typhoon
Great day in the morning
The storm hit without warning
Locked in our hotel in Kowloon
As outside raged a great Typhoon
It’s a long haul to get to Hong Kong
Just to be locked in a hotel all day long
They sandbagged up and blocked the front door
Thus, we could not go out and explore
But with all that wind and slashing rain
To be outside would be akin to insane
So, being as we were on the 47th floor
Our room swayed as the wind whistled and roared
There we sat listening to the rain
When inspiration hit, I’ll order champagne
The folks from room service were so very nice
And our champagne soon arrived in a bucket of ice
Sipping champagne with your wife in Kowloon
Now this is the makings of a second honeymoon
I began singing a romantic tune
In hopes it would make her heart swoon
Alas, she was not of the same mood
She bade me, “Shut up and order us food!”
