Keep Your Eye On the Ball
***Keep Your Eye on the Ball***
There’s so much talk of revolution,
so many are ready for a war.
But I have to wonder if they know,
who the hell they would be fighting for.
It is the rich ass politicians,
that are huddled in their cozy room.
Whispering to us their words of hate.
and filling our hearts with doom and gloom.
They want us to cut each other’s throats,
so we will not come to realize.
That we must keep searching for the truth,
and not believe in their ugly lies.
They’re selling us a fake agenda,
keep on shoving it right down our throat,
Telling us our rights are abolished,
there’s no need to stand in line to vote.
The promises of prosperity,
are strong as any money or dope.
But if you ain’t some rich, old, white dude,
then you don’t have any kind of hope.
They just want to keep on pushing us,
until everything finally caves in.
Because they’re the ones to land on top,
no matter which one it is that wins.
They want me to lay the blame on you,
and want you to lay the blame on me.
They sure don’t want us looking around,
and see just who it really might be.
They are pulling all the puppet strings,
while hiding behind their wizard’s screen.
They will use smoke, deceit, and mirrors,
to hide the real monsters of this dream.
Let me tell you people that it’s time,
it’s time to put an end to this all.
If we’re busy strangling each other,
then who’s keeping their eye on the ball.
