Jesus or Barabbas
Pilate concluded the case was a fraud.
The charge against Christ was legally flawed.
But because he was so morally weak,
A novel verdict for Christ he did seek.
So, he decided to offer a choice,
and the crowd chose Barabbas with one voice.
Barabbas, the seditionist was spared,
Jesus the Savior, sinful man’s death shared.
Barabbas depicts the gods we invent,
when Jesus, the Son of God we resent.
Like Barabbas, these gods bring us disgrace,
when in our lives they occupy God’s place.
Jesus or Barabbas is still the choice,
Proffered to us by the Spirit’s still voice.
The choice you make will determine your fate,
whether perdition or the pearly gates.
