Jack O Lantern Thief
He tiptoed on high alert through the night
I heard he was coming, and I felt a bit of a fright.
He was the jack-0-lantern thief, a monstrous sight.
Although creepy, we heard he was not quite right.
He evolved from the bowels of dead vines they say.
He creeps around stealing pumpkins at night, never in day.
We hope that he will not take a shine and plan to stay.
Things feel lighter and airier when he finally slithers away.
