It
No one sees “it”, no one knows,
“It’s” secrets no one tells.
“It’s” inside certain people
and “it” feels like you’re in hell.
“It” screams out negativity,
But only YOU can hear.
“It” makes you feel you’re all alone.
“It” knows your every fear.
“It” breaks you down to nothing
And “it” wounds your self-esteem.
“It” camouflages how you look
So you’re not what you seem.
“It” wants you isolated
From your family and your friends.
“It” makes you feel so hopeless
--No one knows! You just pretend.
“It” eats your body piece by piece,
But’s hidden as “it” feeds.
“It” gradually gets to all of you,
until it takes the lead.
“It” loves the suffering, strives on pain.
“It” clouds your eyes from good.
“It” secretly makes all things worse,
Disguising cause’ it could.
“It” makes you wish that you weren’t born.
“It” makes you doubt your thoughts.
“It” makes you feel that you will lose,
And everything’s your fault.
“It” brings out paranoia.
You must be doing something wrong.
You walk around pretending
That you somehow must belong.
The strength of “it” is very strong
And fighting “it” is tough!!
And those that do not deal with “it”
Don’t know that living’s rough.
The “IT” that I’m referring to
Still “gets to me” each day.
This “IT” is called DEPRESSION!
I will fight til “IT’s” away!
