Innermost Secrets

Suppose I tell you all my innermost secrets Lay my soul bear before you without fear, Will you respect what confidence merits Consider the trust I placed in you as dear? Knowing I have shared with you my hurt Suppose I tell you all my innermost secrets, Having come to you for needed comfort A favored friendship among all my outlets. Nothing is so sacred as sharing our regrets, As laying bear our most personal intimacies Suppose I tell you all my innermost secrets We have always conversed with such ease. Will you think me less for unveiling my soul Not seeking for how your mind interprets, But wanting our comradeship to be whole Suppose I tell you all my innermost secrets.

This is so true. I really believe and practice this, Caren.

When you reveal such a personal secret to someone, you make yourself more vulnerable; however, it also has the potential to strengthen relationships, Milt. These are some of the best sentences I've read today. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

We all have them Milton. Sharing such an intimate secret aggrandizes the vulnerability factor in oneself. Not many can do this. You had me thinking on this one. Have a nice evening...

Don't do it! More confidences have been betrayed than there is space is a cemetery! Never forget that - especially during the Trump era - profit lies in betraya - and everything on the internet is subject to incredible mis-interpretations! l! Aloha!

As I told you before, I really like this form of poem. But aside from the form, the content is really very good, Milton!

Thought provoking Milton, and a really difficult one to answer, I personally believe if you trust a person implicitly secrets can be shared, but if not, probably best to keep them to ourselves, A fine soul searching write, cheers David

Somehow I agree with you, David. I'm always pretty careful with whom I share my innermost intimacies!

Milt, a friendship in which you are comfortable enough to bare your soul is a treasure. These lines are some of the best you’ve offered lately. I’m glad to call you my friend.
