Indifferent Love
She stood at the sink
with her head in her hands.
Fully knowing this wasn't
the life she'd planned.
Life's seasons were getting
shorter and colder.
Her bones sing their misery
both louder and boulder.
Drained by the cruelty of
a love gone indifferent.
Inside she crumbles seeking
strength now unapparent.
A glimmer of hope looms
in a distant light.
Her prayers will soon be answered
and end her plight.
