In the Wake of Light
At break of dawn, the world seems still,
Yet stirs beneath the hush and chill.
The moon, though fading, holds her place,
As sunlight paints the sky with grace.
Palm trees stand with stately pride,
Their fronds in morning breezes glide.
Along the shore, bright laughter plays,
As children frolic in ocean sprays.
Soft breaking waves caress the shore,
Our footprints fade, seen no more.
Each wave departs, but not in vain,
It finds its way to rise again.
A Bajan greets with sage advice,
The breeze carrying his voice:
"Take in the air, let worries cease,
Embrace the morning, walk in peace."
The hush of dawn begins to lift,
As life resumes its steady drift.
Another smile, a kind good day,
Beneath the sun's unfolding ray.
