In the Grass

Walking in the grass, green and soft beneath my bare feet. With a warm sunny day, and a cool breeze filling the air. A sting I did feel, it came out of no where. What was it, was I to care. A snake in the green grass was there hiding, just waiting for me to show up. This reminds me of you, you hid until I showed up. Your bite was like this snake, fast and so unaware. Yet very poisonous and painful, guess you never really cared.

Ah, the snake stealthily hiding in the grass. Both reptile + human, one needs caution when dealing with snakes. I like this write, Paula. Be well. Brian

They say, the grass is greener on the other side, but never what's inside, a profound write, Paula! “I love you and I always will and I am sorry, What a useless word.” —Ernest Hemingway, The Garden of Eden book.

This sounds like a personification. Sounds like a terrible experience. Great poem, and point taken, beware of snakes in the grass to be sure. Hugs to you Paula <3

Paula your submission was fantastic. And your thought on grass is clear but scary. Where your feet may lead you is anyone's guess.
