In the Early Hours
In the early hours of morning
when the world is sleeping on
How my longing soul delights in
Time I spend with God's dear Son
In these quiet peaceful moments
I can open up my heart,
and my Savior gently blesses
of His grace, I take a part
There is nothing I can't tell him:
every secret, every pain,
and he gently, kindly listens
From His presence, strength I gain
He assures me that He loves me
that there's nothing that can make
Love for me to ever weaken,
for His death was for my sake
He reminds me of His mercies,
and His constant, watchful care
Wraps His arms of love around me
Let's me know He's always there
Even when the storm clouds gather,
and the darkness blinds my sight
He is there so close beside me
in the watches of the night
When I lay my head against Him
All my burdens disappear
What a joyous revelation
That to Jesus I am dear
Friends at times will disappoint me
Loved ones will forget to call,
but my Lord is ever present
He will catch me when I fall
When in time the world awakens,
I must be about my day,
but I take my Jesus with me,
for He lights my life and way
Greater love? There is no other!
Better blessing? Not a one!
Only Jesus now and ever!
Only Jesus, God's dear Son!
