Here's another, Carrie. I'm such a square. I wasn't even into the big band era. I went to dances just to get a date. I was raised on long hair...started violin at age 8. Listened to all the big orchestras...Philly, New Nork Philharmonic, Boston, Chicago. When the Beatles hit, I freaked out! My students thought I was nuts. Good poem. Love, daver

I am old enough to remember this and I have seen it degenerate in the subsequent years. My God, how innocent and naive those times were! But we have lost some things in the bargain. Very much like taking more than one bite from the apple... Thank you so much for your comments on my contest entry. You are always very kind towards me. Thank you. GK

Believe it or not, my parents loved Elvis and my Dad was the one who told me about the long haired band coming over from England. He told me in December of 63 and I saw them finally in February of 64. Good luck in the contest. Vince
