In Search of a Purpose
A painting grows with flowing colors
Streaming across the canvas frame
A poignant story sometimes follows
Admired by some, rarely leads to fame.
A sculpture formed in clay by hand
And a figure emerges into the air
Depicting animal or perhaps a man
Creating a vision with loving care.
The ancient art of silk and yarn
Found ways to make a special piece
To hang on walls or even worn
From silken worm or nature’s fleece.
Tho you may think your talent’s nil
And clever craftsman you’ll never be
Suddenly there comes a hidden thrill
Whenever your thoughts are set free.
You write a poem and hear the sound
Of emotions felt when read aloud
Your talent comes when words are found
You’ve touched another, you can be proud!
